DESERT STARS
The first focus project of our association, founded in 2025, is “Desert Stars” in Kenya.
This innovative education and development project in Nordenia is opening up new perspectives for young people in the North Horr region. The aim is to establish a sustainably designed digital and innovation center that offers practical training in IT, sustainable agriculture, and, above all, entrepreneurship. In a region heavily impacted by climate change, the project is creating future-proof alternatives to traditional livestock farming.

Young women and men gain access to digital skills and modern knowledge to actively shape their communities. The center is complemented by an environmental and sustainability school, modeled on and supported by the Sustainability School at Ben-Gurion University in the Negev Desert. In cooperation with local initiatives, international experts, and the community, a place of learning, innovation, and cultural exchange is being created. The infrastructure is designed to be completely self-sufficient, powered by solar energy, water self-sufficiently, and ecologically sound. Special emphasis is placed on empowering girls and young women. Desert Stars pursues a holistic approach that integrates education, climate protection, and economic empowerment.
The groundbreaking ceremony on November 5, 2025, was celebrated extensively. Residents from across the county came to Turbi to learn about the beginnings of the ICT Hub and to exchange ideas.
