Aenki e.V. promotes future-oriented construction at the interface of craftsmanship, material innovation and cultural knowledge.
Sustainable solutions often lie in traditional building cultures that receive little attention today. Our goal is to preserve and further develop these cultural practices and connect them with today's requirements – together with local partners and international networks .

The association was founded by Julia Mauser, together with experts from the fields of building culture, art, politics and international development cooperation.
Since the early 2000s, Julia has worked as an architect on international architectural projects, as a consultant for infrastructure projects of the World Bank in the Global South, as an office founder in Addis Ababa, as a freelancer in Berlin, or as a lecturer in Addis Ababa or Munich at the Chair of Architecture and Participation.
