The water is transported by motorbike from a catchment basin 7 km away. The transport costs are therefore higher than the cost of the water itself, and if there is no rain for a long time, the water evaporates, which can lead to disputes over who gets the water. In mid-November, the NGO ‘Drilling for Life’ facilitated the drilling of a new borehole, approximately 350 metres (!!) deep, located 7 kilometres south of Turbi. The flow rate is 12 m³/h. Plans include the installation of a pump, a solar power system and, possibly by 2026, a desalination plant.
